Baby's Story

The day before Thanksgiving 2006, a motorist found a dog abandoned on a country road in Cambridge, Ohio. She brought the dog home and as she finished the Thanksgiving's green bean casserole, she placed it on the counter and went to get ready. When she came back, the dog had gotten to and eaten the entire casserole. She affectionately named her, "Baby Bean".

Our family adopted Baby aka Bebe (as our 2 yr old pronounced it) in January 2007. My husband worked nights at the time and Bebe would lay guard at the end of the bed, keeping watch through the window for any danger. Being a dog that never barked, we were alerted one night when she let out an alarming growl and started barking. Jumping out of bed, we followed her gaze to a man dressed in all black, breaking in to a neighbor's vehicle across the street...  It was Bebe's bark, that started the Tussing Block Watch.

I have never known a dog like Bebe. She won over everyone she came in contact with and had a gentle spirit that helped neighborhood kids get over their fear of dogs.  Aside from humans Bebe looked forward to her puppy friends from the neighborhood stopping by while out for a walk.

We are dedicating the TBW's new website to the one who started it all, Bebe. You will be missed by many Bebe, but your spirit lives on.

The Crime Triangle

In order for a crime to occur, three things must be present; a criminal, a victim, and an opportunity. If you remove any one of these factors from the equation, a crime cannot occur. Each of us, has the ability to prevent crime simply by being aware of our surroundings and reporting anything suspicious to local law enforcement.
