The Aurora Townhomes Block Watch was established in February 2019, making it the eleventh official block watch added under the Tussing Block Watch.

Brentwood Lake Apartments Block Watch

The Brentwood Lake Apartments Block Watch was established in July of 2009, making it the seventh official block watch added under the Tussing Block Watch.

Some of the projects that the TBW has undertaken within this community are:

  • Working closely with residents and management to target those individuals who have posed safety concerns for the residents who live there.
  • The Pride Week Bike Safety Festival provided helmets to all 800+ children who attended Tussing Elementary, helping the community to prepare for the new helmet law that went into affect this summer.

The Tussing Corners Block Watch was established in 2016, making it the ninth official block watch added under the Tussing Block Watch.

Independence Block Watch

The Independence Block Watch was originally established in March of 2008 and was primarily based around the Independence Park. As the block watch began to grow, so did it's boundaries and it soon included all of the streets within the Independence Village subdivision.

Some of the projects that the TBW has undertaken within this community are:

  • Painting the subdivision entry signs
  • Painting the shelter house, park benches, tables and other equipment located in Independence Park
  • Securing a grant through the United Way to add additional lighting in Independence Park.
  • Installed additional block watch signs with the phone number for the Columbus Police Department on them, throughout the entire community.
  • Independence Bike Safety Festival in Independence Park
  • Pride Week, in which many areas of concern (sidewalks, fire hydrants, and storm drains) were looked at and addressed by the City of Columbus.

The Park Place (e) Block Watch

The Park Place (east) Block Watch was was also established in May of 2008, making it the fourth community to be added to the Tussing Block Watch.

Some of the projects that the TBW has undertaken within this community are:

  • Weeding the subdivision entry signs
  • Working closely with residents in specific areas to target those individuals who have posed safety concerns for the residents who live there. In addition, we have worked closely with city services to further enhance the pressure on these individuals.
  • Installed additional block watch signs with the phone number for the Columbus Police Department on them, throughout the entire community.
  • The Pride Week Bike Safety Festival provided helmets to all 800+ children who attended Tussing Elementary, helping the community to prepare for the new helmet law that went into affect this summer.

The Park Place West (n) Block Watch

The Park Place West (north section) Block Watch was established in November of 2007, kicking off the beginning of the Tussing Block Watch and it's role in our community.

Some of the projects that the TBW has undertaken within this community are:

  • Weeding and painting the subdivision entry sign
  • Working closely with Tussing Elementary School and officially including them as an active participant in the Park Place West (north) Block Watch.
  • Identifying issues both during and after school hours that pose concerns within the community. These have resulted in No Trespassing from Dusk till Dawn signs being posted and the removal of basketball hoops (when needed) to prevent certain groups of concern from gathering on the playground.
  • Installed additional block watch signs with the phone number for the Columbus Police Department on them, throughout the entire community.
  • The Pride Week Bike Safety Festival provided helmets to all 800+ children who attended Tussing Elementary, helping the community to prepare for the new helmet law that went into affect this summer.

The Turnberry Block Watch

The Turnberry Block Watch was established in September of 2008 and bridged the block watch's gap between the Independence subdivision and both Park Place West (north section) and Park Place West (south section).

Turnberry Green/Farm Creek Block Watch

The Turnberry Green Block Watch was was also established in May of 2008, but was included under the Park Place (east) Block Watch until it was realized that it was not actually a part of the Park Place (east) subdivision.
